Medion launches Swarovski crystal laptop

Medion has always concentrated on decent technology at a lower price point, so it seems strange that it should launch a laptop designed using Swarovski crystals. Saying that, this one still comes in at less than £1,000.

Aimed specifically at women, the Medion SIM 2060 laptop has a “sparkly, pink and compact design” (their words), but still has enough inside if you’re after a working laptop as opposed to a fashion accessory. But first that design – pink chrome, with over 300 separate Swarovski crystals embedded in the cover, forming a flower motif and the Medion logo. Oh yes – there’s also a flower motif on the notebook’s trackpad.

Inside, there’s an Intel Core Duo processor, along with 1024MB DDR II RAM memory, 100GB hard drive, dual layer DVD writer, Wi-Fi and a 12.1-inch TFT wide-XGA colour display, optimised for DVD playback. It all weighs in at a total of 1.9kg.

The Medion SIM 2060 is available now, priced at £999 including VAT.
