Evesham has unveiled what it describes as the “ultimate PC” – the Solar Quattro.

Primarily aimed at gamers, it uses Nvidia’s new SLI ready GeForce 8800GTX graphics with 768MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 900MHz – or you can upgrade to a second Nvidia 880 GTX graphics card for double the power. A typical set-up also features an Intel Quad Core Extreme processor, 2GB Corsair DDR 2 800 EPP memory, 500GB drive and all the connectivity you’d expect.

And it’s all packed into a new streamlined aluminium case from CoolerMaster, which offers improved airflow via high ventilation openings on the top and the sides, while its side bracket can support a total of nine 120mm fans. Sound is provided by a combination of Creative’s SB X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Audio sound card and Gigaworks ProGamer G500 5.1 speaker system.

The system uses Windows Media Center 2005 Edition, but there is a free upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium Edition when available. Prices start at £1299.00, but a typical set-up would come in around £2,700.
