Dell Inspiron 1501 – AMD-powered entry-level notebooks

Dell has announced a new range of notebooks – the Inspiron 1501, which are AMD-powered and retail from under £400.

The Inspiron 1501 is the first Dell notebook with AMD processor options, including AMD Sempron, AMD Turion 64 and AMD Turion 64 X2 series, They also feature with up to 2GB of shared DDR2 memory, up to 80GB hard drive, a new ATI graphics card and all are Microsoft Windows Vista premium capable.

The Inspiron 1501 is also the first entry-level notebook with a standard 3-in-1 media card reader and it has a 15.4-inch widescreen display with True Life technology – again, the first on an entry notebook.

Prices range from £399 including VAT and delivery for the Inspiron 1501 with AMD Sempron to £589 including VAT and deliver y for the Inspiron 1501 with AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processors
