We spend much more time these days listening to music from our PC, so why not give it the sound system it deserves – something like the Bose Companion 5 – designed specifically for use with your computer.

The system consists of two speakers on mini stands and an Acoustimass module. it hooks up to your computer via USB, delivering 5.1 stereo sound using TrueSpace surround sound processing.

A wired control unit features volume and mute buttons, as well as a headphone jack and input for a portable player or other audio source. Expect to see it in stores sometime this month, retailing for around £300.
