I’ve always had a soft spot for Casio. As a kid, I got a Casio Space Invaders watch for Christmas – saw me through an entire year of classroom boredom. And they’re still making interesting watches now, including this new High Performance Collection, based loosely around motorsport.

Their most notable feature is the Wave Ceptor atomic timing in the top-end models. This means they update continuously via radio signals from the UK and Germany – with the signals being accessible from anywhere in Western Europe. The models featuring Wave Ceptor are the WVQ-550E-1AVER and WVQ-560DE-1AVER. They also feature a light, dual time, date display, daily alarm, 1/100th second stopwatch, stainless-steel casing and they’re 100m water resistant.

Available now, prices for watches in the range vary between £79.99 – £129.99.
