Slowly but surely, we’re edging closer to a wire-free desk, with even the humble printer force to relinquish a hold on your USB port. In fact, the Olivetti Any Way and Simple Way offer wireless connection through either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on the top-end models.

The Any Way is a colour photo printer, that (unsurprisingly) prints, copies (even without a PC) and scans. There’s also a 2.4-inch LCD display, a printing speed of 20 pages per minute (b/w) and 18 pages (colour) per minute and 75 seconds for 10×15 photo printing. There’s also image improvement software to boost old pictures into looking like they’ve just been taken. A photo fax model features a fax machine, while Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity feature in the photo wireless plus model.

The Simple Way prints, copies (without the  PC) and scans. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are standard in the top of the range models. Printing speed is 20 pages per minute (b/w and) and 18 per minute (colour), with 75 seconds enough for a 10×15 photographic print. It also prints directly from a camera via Pictbridge and like the Any Way, you can boost old photos with the touch of a button.

Prices and availability still to be confirmed.
