Apple unveil 5th generation iPod: up to 80Gb

Apple has unveiled its latest iPods, now up to their 5th generation, available in either 30Gb or 80Gb versions.

The 2.5 inch screen’s is 60% brighter than previous models, and the battery life is now up to 20 hours (14 hours for the 30Gb version) of music, or 6.5 hours of video playback. There are new software features built in to make it easier to find songs, podcasts and audiobooks. There’s also automatic gapless playback.

The new buzz feature is the addition of games. All 5th generation iPods will play an increasing selection of games available to download from the Apple website, including Bejeweled, Tetris, Pac Man, Texas Hold ‘Em, Mahjjong and Mini Golf. Games are available for $4.99 from the iTunes store.

It comes with Earphones, USB 2.0 cable, Dock adapter and Case. The 30Gb version costs £189 and the 80Gb version costs £259, available in black or white.
