We’ve featured Monitor Audio’s i-Deck previously, a popular add-on for those looking to convert their portable player into a home audio unit. And if you’re in ther market for one, you’ve just got some more choice, with two new models introduced – the i-Deck compact and the i-Deck plus.

In terms of functionality, the i-Deck compact covers all the basics. It’s compatible with all iPods, recharging your machine whilst blasting out the tunes. A remote control allows you to sit back in your armchair and skip through the tracks, while RCA and S-video connectors offer connectivity to a TV or projector if you’ve got the appropriate iPod. It can also be connected up to a computer for synchronisation.

The i-deck plus has the same functionality, but throws in an integrated AM/FM tuner. The compact should be available this month for around £150, with the plus to follow in September – price to be confirmed.
