Skype launches exclusive software for Mac OS X 1.5
Good news for Mac owners, Skype has launched a beta version of its software exclusively for Mac OS X 1.5. The new version has a redesigned interface, is now available in nine languages and has a number of new features.
The look and feel of the main Skype window and chat drawer has been redesigned to be easier to use, while organising and adding contacts is improved through better integration with Apple’s Address Book and Microsoft Entourage. Additionally, Skype’s quickfilter search function simplifies finding contacts within the Skype contact list. Feature-wise, the new Mac software includes Easy Dialling, with dialling codes available from dropdown menus and a quickfilter, where you can find friends by entering just a few letters of their name, along with SkpeWeb – which allows you to share your online status with other users via your website or blog. There’s also seven new languages in addition to English and Japanese.
In addition to the new software, Skype has also announced the first Skype for Mac starter packs. The packs contain everything needed to get started with Skype for Mac, a USB stereo headset with microphone in a carrying case, plus a voucher for free SkypeOut minutes to call landline or mobile numbers worldwide.

Never mind the hype.. where is the video chat? All those Macs with built in isight and you can’t vid conf with the rest of the world who use MSN or Sype (with video) on PCs!!!!
