Samsung is expanding its ‘S’ series range of digital cameras with the 7 megapixel S700 and the 10 megapixel S1000.

Specifications for both cameras are very similar.   Both cameras have 3x optical zoom (S700 has 5x digital zoom and S1000 has 10x digital zoom) and both support high sensitivity ISO 1000, enabling images of moving objects to be captured better, even in low light. Both cameras also feature ten preset scene modes, along with a ‘Special Effect Key’, giving you effective control over image composition at the touch of a button. Each has a 2.5-inch TFT colour LCD screen, along with a movie function with built in pause and editing functions (VGA, 30fps).

The S700 is expected to be available in August, for a retail price of about £150. The S1000 will be available from September and has an expected retail price of around £200.
