Another week, another alternative to the iPod hits the shelves. However, the Sumvision Opus Pro does offer a bit more for your money – an MP3 and video player with TFT screen and FM radio – and all for under £50.

The 1GB Sumvision Opus pro can play music in MP3, WMA, WAV formats, but with a 1.5" 320×240 TFT-LCD display, it can also playback movies in MPEG4 or ASF format or be used as a viewer for images in JPEG format. There’s also an FM tuner and a digital voice recorder included. And if that’s not enough, there’s three built-in games.

Music is tranferred via USB and the player is powered by a lithium ion rechargeable battery, which can be charged via USB or a spearate adaptor. It’s available in either black or white for a very competitive £49.98.

  • This looks exactly like one of the numerous Chinese iPod ripoffs. I bought a 2GB one for about 25 pounds. It seems to be the same device with a different brand.

Note that it claims in the specs to be both OLED, and TFT screen! In fact it is neither, just an old LCD. It’s still very cool with far more functions than an ipod, but this price seems a bit high for 1GB.
