Following on from last week’s budget C210 unit from Mio comes two further additions to the company’s sat nav range – the Mio C510E and C710.

The C710 is a top of the range device and is equipped with the latest Tele Atlas maps of 24 European countries and a built in TMC (traffic update) receiver. The C510E is based on the same technology and comes with full UK mapping and Major Roads of Europe (MRE) installed with full maps of 24 European countries on a DVD.

Both models share the majority of features, which includes a 65,536-colour, 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display with seven digit postcode recognition, a dedicated pedestrian mode, anti-glare screen for better visibility outdoors, speed camera alerts with one year’s free updates, predictive search by name across thousands of Points of Interest with phone numbers, hands-free calling with Bluetooth connectivity and built in microphone and Outlook synchronisation so users can call and navigate directly to their contacts.

In addition, you can do a detailed check and amendment of your proposed journey before you set off, with alternative routes available for large vehicles or caravans which avoid narrow streets and low bridges. Both devices can also be used to play MP3 files and view photos via the SD card slot. Battery life should give you around 4.5 hours use.

Both devices come with a windscreen mount, car charger and a USB lead for downloading speed camera locations. The C510E will retail for £239.99 and the C710 will retail for £359.99.
