Jajah – a simple way to use VoIP

Here’s a novel way of using VoIP – via your own phone, with no additional kit to set up.

The service is from Jajah. It’s been available in the US for a few months, but has just come over to the UK. Unlike most services, you can forget about wiring up new kit to your PC, calls are from your home phone to home phone.  To use the service, visit the website, enter your phone number and the number of the person you want to call. The click "Call".

Both your telephone and the other person’s phone will ring. Pick up your handset and connect. Rates seem good – a call from London to New York costs around 1.2 pence a minute, and a call to Bangkok just 2.2 pence per minute. You can also use it for mobile calling – but obviously rates are higher.
