PayPal introduces credit card

eBay continues its charge to dominate our lives, with payment arm PayPal introducing a credit card to the UK, initially for any of eBay’s 10 million customers.

Backed by GE Money, the card will be available to any of eBay users immediately and to anyone else who wants one from mid-May. Online applicants for the cards will get an instant decision. The card offers six months interest free for balance transfers, with the APR jumping to 12.9 APR after that, along with the usual protection for online shopping and ID theft.

The PayPal card will be operated as a separate business from the online payment systems, so there’s no link to your online funds. But if you do have a PayPal account, expect to get an invite to apply from the company this month.
