PinballJudging by the tremendous response to yesterday's item about the 'fix' for the Windows Pinball game there's a lot of cheating going on out there, all we can say is shame on you, and here's some more from Propellerhead, for Windows XP 3D pinball.  At any point during the game type '1max' (without the quotes) for extra balls. Typing 'rmax' will instantly promote you to the next level, though you won't get any extra points, and if you open the game full-screen (press F4) and type 'bmax' you will get unlimited balls. You'll find a comprehensive archive of tips on the BootLog website.

Free martial arts TV on the net

Martialarts_mbed I love Enter The Dragon, but that and a bit of Jackie Chan is about the limit of my martial arts knowledge. I should be able to brush up in the coming weeks though, with Martial Arts TV launching on the net - and it's absolutely free to tune in.

The free martial arts action will include sports, movies, lifestyle and entertainment programming 24 hours a day. Initial content includes Kickboxing from Thailand, independent movies, specially created animations, quirky music videos and health & exercise training videos and more. Bigger programming deals are to follow says Narrowstep, the people behind the venture.

Handmade beating heart

Heart No, we're not telling you that some clever person has come up with a bit of technology to replace your beating heart, this cushion-like My Beating Heart, spotted over at Hippyshopper, syncs to your own heartbeat, which apparently makes you calm and happy.

The benefits are supposed to be similar to having a pet on your lap - but without the hair and smell. It comes in five styles, costs $120 and should be available to buy around June.

Sony VPL-CX76 review

Sony_projector Sony's flagship office projector achieves the impressive feat of successfully introducing Wi-Fi technology into the equation and seamlessly links up to your computer without a reel of VGA cable. In fact it's not only wireless (although you still need to plug it in of course) it can even be computer-less by using the Memory Stick card reader to show slides and jpeg images.

It is let down by being a touch on the weighty side and bulkier than some some Sony's smarter skinny models.

All-in-all though it's a great gadget for taking your presentations on the road and look very cool while doing so - read GadgetCentre's full review here.

PayPal to launch mobile payments

Paypal_logo_1 With one on eye undoubtedly on those of us who now view the web via mobile device, eBay has confirmed that PayPal payments via mobile will be available in the UK by the end of April.

Anyone signing up for PayPal Mobile will be able to purchase goods instantly by sending a simple text message, as well as being able to make payments to other PayPal users. The company claimed it would be the first mass-market mobile-payments system in Britain, with around 10 million people in the UK, and another 105 million worldwide, already using PayPal.

Skype_logo_3 Got yourself a Skype phone? You'll soon be able to change your incoming ring to the tune of your choice, after the net communications company announced a deal with some of the major publishing companies to distribute music as Skype ringtones.

The agreements are with three major companies - EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, and Warner/Chappell Music, along with the UK's collecting society for author/publisher rights, the MCPS-PRS Alliance. Skype's licenses will initially allow it to lawfully distribute master tones from artists who are part of the Warner Music Group, which includes the likes of Madonna, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Green Day.

LEmini lifestyle bag

Lemini The proliferation of gadgets in our lives has created a huge market for accessories in their trail, not to mention protective bags to carry them round. One rather stylish example that caught my eye is this LEmini lifestyle bag from Be.ez.

The LEmini is a protective durable satchel, designed to carry everyday items, but with the added bonus of security with its specifically designed pockets for your gadgets and essential items. For example, if you're an iPod owner, there's a rather useful external iPod pocket and earphone strap - ideal for music on the go.

The BeerBelly

Beerbelly A number of the people I know have got a beer belly for free - and it's not something they find particularly useful. However, if you've still got your shape and want to fit in with the crowd, help is at hand with the BeerBelly - a false frontage that is particularly useful if you like a drink on the go.

Strap on your BeerBelly and you can drink what you want, when and where you want to. It's made up of an insulated neoprene "sling" and a polyurethane "bladder" with a tube for dispensing. The bladder is held in an insulated pouch in the sling which is worn under your clothing for concealment. When you've got it under your dart player top and over your low-slung trousers, it looks just like a beer belly - except it's full of ice cold beer!

Eveshamquest Evesham has announced updates for two of its flagship notebooks - the Quest A620 and the Voyager C720, which will now feature the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX for graphics, with the Voyager C720 now available with Intel's Core Duo processor.

The introduction of Dual Core for the Voyager C720 will mean higher performance, particularly when multitasking. And when you're on the move, the Intel Core Duo processor should mean extended battery life. The addition of the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX GPU to both models will allow Extreme High Definition gaming on a notebook. it also means the possibility of high definition video playback with improved picture clarity, plus the chance to play latest graphics hungry games at extreme HD resolutions without slowdown elsewhere.

Memorex TravelDrive I.D.

Memorexid Gone are the days when we stored a couple of text documents on a floppy disk - these days we need a storage device with a huge capacity - and we still find ways to fill it. If you find you've got more than one device on the go, or you simply can't recall what you dumped onto that flash drive two weeks ago, the Memorex TravelDrive I.D. could be of use.

It's a drive you can label; rather like when you used to scribble details onto your old floppy discs. Except of course, this is 2006, so the labelling is a little more state-of-the-art. It uses an LCD screen, which displays the label, and rather helpfully, the amount of disk space left on your drive without the need to plug into a PC.

Minesweep Look away now if you are a fan of the Windows game Minesweeper because the spoilsports at Propellerhead are about to reveal a hidden secret that will allow you surreptitiously see where mines are located on the grid. All you have to do is open the game, move the mouse cursor to the game panel, type the following code: xyzzy then press Shift > Enter > Enter. You should now notice a small white dot -- just 1 pixel in size -- appear in the top left hand corner of your monitor screen. If you now move the mouse pointer to the game grid every time it passes over a mine the pixel will turn black.

It's okay, you can look now, we've finished... For more tips and tricks like this pop over to the BootLog website at www.rickmaybury.com

Tech_air Over at GadgetCentre, they've gotten their hands on a Tech Air laptop bag - want to know how you can improve on the humble rucksack for transporting your notebook machine around the place? How about air-cushioning, i-TRACK bag tracking system and a lifetime warranty.

On top of that they really dig the style, especially because it disguises the fact that you're lugging several hundred quid's worth of portable technology. Check out the full review here.

It also provides the locations of all the World Cup stadiums, as well as all the large TV screens in Germany showing the match.

The package will be available to download for all TomTom users from the end of April 2006, directly from www.tomtom.com. For more on the World Cup itself, keep tuned into Who Ate All The Bratwurst.

Nokian93

Nokia has been busy this morning at the Open Studio event in Berlin, adding three new handsets to its N-Series range - the most eye-catching of which is this N93 camcorder phone.

As our title suggests, the big selling point of the Nokia N93 is video recording. It features a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and offers DVD-like video capture at 30 frames per second, plus 3x optical zoom with video stabilisation and high definition display. You can even connect it directly to your TV for widescreen playback.
