No longer a top-end gadget, sat nav is mass market, with progressively cheaper models appearing constantly. One such unit is the Navman iCN330 – entry-level sat nav for less than £200.

This basic solution will work straight out of the box in any car. The iCN330 features three dimensional, moving maps on a 2.83 inch TFT LCD screen to help you navigate through your journey. A progress bar and distance indicator turn red to give you advanced warning to your next turn. In adddition, a “free drive” function allows you to see moving maps without having to enter a specific destination – a nice idea if you think you know the route but want a bit of reassurance.

Destinations can be entered down to house number or via a postcode.  Clear turn-by-turn voice instructions are provided through the integrated speaker and if you take a wrong turn, the ‘Back on Track’ function will instantly re-route you.

Provided with a car suction mount, cigarette lighter adaptor and rechargeable battery, the iCN330 is available from this month for £199.
