Working PS3 console to go on show?

Excitement over Sony’s PS3 console could reach fever pitch next week, with rumours of the first working and playable machine going on display in Taiwan.

Sony will be presenting the next-generation entertainment device next week at the Taipei Game Show, and Chinese-language paper the Commercial Times said Sony will devote a quarter of its rather large 80-booth show space to the working version of the PS3. Yes, the console has been seen before – but the boxes on display were believed to have been dummy cases with rolling demos on the screens.

Will some lucky gamer get to play it? Probably not – the clever money is on next May’s E3 for the big press launch.
