The £50 iPod shuffle arrives (and no we still don't want one)

Ok, so we might not like it much but it clear that there are still thousands of suckers music lovers who can’t get enough of Apple’s bargain basement screenless iPod the shuffle.
Anyhow, contrary to the popular rumour that it was heading for that big consumer electronics loft in the sky, Apple has announced today it is not only continuing with the player but is also slashing its price,. So you can now buy the entry level iPod for £49 if you want a 512MB player or £69 if you splash out on the one gig version.

Also today Apple announced a one gig version of the nano which retails for £109.
