Long battery life is the holy grail of all product developers – it doesn’t matter how many TV shows or music files you can fit inside your latest gadget if your power supply dies after a couple of hours. If power problems constantly disrupt your entertainment, it might be worth looking at the PocketPower from Gear4, a reserve power pack for all iPod’s and any other USB device.

The lightweight device comes complete with four AAA rechargeable batteries that can be charged via the USB on your computer, providing back-up power of up to 8 hours for an iPod or other USB gadget. It can also charge any electronic device with a USB charger slot.

The PocketPower should retail for around £20.
