Will your Christmas food be delivered?
I don’t know about you, but I feel faint at the very thought of a supermarket at this time of year. And that’s just finding a parking space. And according to new research from TNS, I’m not alone – we’re all staying home and using our computer to do the work instead.
Britons will shell out a whopping £3.3bn next week, without moving out of the house. There’s only one drawback – it seems that the companies can’t cope. Newpaper reports claim several supermarkets have already stopped taking Christmas orders following a massive rise in demand.
The retailers are denying they’re overstretched, though some supermarkets admit they have already had to deal with customer complaints over the lack of delivery capacity.

I have to say this is the first year I’ve managed to get my Christmas food delivered before Christmas, every other year I’ve not been able to get a delivery slot. This year not a problem, the delivery driver even wanted to deliver two hours earlier than my booked time. I went with Ocado, Waitrose’s food delivery service. Although slightly pricey it paid off as their service is better than Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
