Sat navvers Navman has been at it again this time unveiling the top-end iCN550 GPS system. This newbie has two key features. Firstly it has a four Gigabyte hard drive which is pre-loaded with street level maps of sixteen European countries. Secondly and perhaps more impressively, it is the first portable GPS system (it can be moved from car to car) to offer live traffic updates through its additional TM 500M traffic module. The way it works is that information about incidents and problems are transmitted to the device via FM and then displayed as icons on the onscreen maps. It goes on sale next month for £599, or £699 when accompanied by the TM550.
