If you’re yearning to have the love and companionship that comes with having a pet, but don’t have the emotional strength for a relationship with a flesh and blood animal, then the Robopet might be of interest. The pet has animations that express one of the pet’s six moods, which range from playful to depressed. The Robopet is apparently trainable, and the blurb claims it can act as a guard dog. Although it probably wouldn’t be a very scary one.

The Robopet comes with an impressive array of sensors and can avoid obstacles and also comes complete with a laser leash, so you can mark a path for your dog to walk.

The robopet, available from BoysStuff.co.uk, is going for £59.99.
