Creative delivers the Zen Sleek

Creative’s latest 20 Gigabyte digital music player, the Zen Sleek, is set to reach the stores next week. Rather than take on the new iPod and its colour screen, or the Sony NW-HD5 and its mega battery life, Creative has played the style card and delivered a rather classy looking model with an aluminum finish and white contours.

In typical Creative style the Sleek’s feature count is pretty high, so as well as playback of MP3 and WMA (including copyright protected tracks from sites like Napster) files it has an FM radio, integrated mic for voice recording and  a new style touchpad. Battery life is 16 hours – slightly better than the new colour screen iPod, but still way short of the NW-HD5.

It sells for £200 which, with a bit of discounting should take it slightly lower than the price of the equivalent iPod and the NW-HD5.
