A good day for Cambidge Silicon Radio with the news that a group of five of its engineers have been award the MacRobert award by the Royal Academy of Engineering. The group got the prestigious technology award (and £50,000) for their work on BlueCore, a silicon chip that manages to house a Bluetooth transmitter (a difficult task as the silicon chip interferes with the Bluetooth). The company has now designed over 30 models, and shipped 100 million chips. The group will receive their prizes at Buckingham palace from Prince Phillip.
