Nokia and Apple have announced that they are developing a new open-source web browser for mobile phones. If all goes according to plan, the browser is expected to run on Nokia’s Series 60 platform, scheduled for release next year. The browser will include some of the components found in Apple’s Safari browser, such as WebCore and JavaScriptCore. Love or hate ’em, you have to admit that Apple has a knack for designing simple but effective programs. It would be nice if mobile phone browsing were just a little easier.
