Yahoo! reveals Music Unlimited

Not wanting to let Apple, Napster and Real have all the fun, Yahoo! has unveiled its own music download service and starts off on the right foot by undercutting the competition. Copying Napster To Go and Rhapsody To Go, Yahoo! Music Unlimited is a subscription service and has today entered the beta testing phase. Subscription costs $6.99 per month or if you buy an annual subscription it drops to $4.99 per month.

It’s not certain yet how good the 1 million strong track listing is, but an interesting music sharing system using Yahoo! Messenger will mean your friends will able to pass on any good finds if they also use the service. Plus it’s nice to have some more healthy competition in the market to keep the prices dropping for legal music downloaders.
