And it’s looking like Blu-ray: Matsushita president Kunio Nakamura has told reporters that partner Sony will not compromise over the recent tech negotiations over the two disc formats currently being pushed as the successor for DVD. Nakamura has stated that the only hope for establishing a successful unified standard between Sony and Toshiba is for the next generation to use Sony’s Blu-ray rather than Toshiba’s HD-DVD. This confirms rumours reported earlier that Sony is refusing to compromise over the disc format. Blu-ray it is, then, I guess.
