It isn’t just Philips/Nike which is hoping to tempt sporty types into swapping their iPods for dedicated flash memory based – so no jumping – MP3 players. Korean company iRiver has just unveiled the T10, a sports style player with tough casing and a 1.1 inch LCD colour screen. It is available in 256MB, 512MB and one Gig versions and is finished in lime green, red or an odd shade or orange depending on which sized storage you plump for. Other features include compatibility with MP3, WMA and OGG files, an FM radio tuner and a clock. You also get a fairly serious looking metal clip so you can hook it to a bag or hang it round your neck.

The 65k colour screen can also display BMP image files. Its best feature though is its 53 hours battery life. It goes on sale in Korea in a week, which if traditional form is anything to go by, means it will land in the UK in about three months time.
