Hand over the money, or the data gets it

Internet junkies can now add ransomware to the long list of things to watch out for on the net. This latest internet hacking fad involves a trojan getting onto your PC and fiendishly encrypting all of your important documents. After the deed is done, you are then told your computer’s locked, and told to pay for the decoder through an E-gold account. The first case of this was reported by Websense when a corporate worker was asked to hand over $200 (the case was reported and solved without loss of data).

Cheeky sods. More malicious, but still less annoying then those bloody viagra emails I get.
Does anyone really respond to those?
