Loads of new cameras… Must be nearly Photokina the industry’s bi-annual bunfight in the fair of Cologne.

Leading the way is Sony which has lined up pair of pretty decent looking snappers.

At the high-end is the £550 seven mega pixel Cyber-shot F3, a kind of SLR replacement. It also boasts a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 4x optical zoom lens, dual memory card slots for Memory Stick and Compact Flash and a 2.5-inch LCD.

It launches in October a month before Sony’s other new goodie the Cyber-shot L1. This model keeps the compact horizontal design Sony cameras have become noted for, but offers a 4.1 mega pixel Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom and a 1.5inch LCD. It is set to retail for £250.
