We got all excited about the idea of a cordless mouse having a laser on board. Turns out Logitech’s MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse isn’t for zapping irritating work colleagues on the backside or incinerating top secret documents. It’s actually just a more accurate and reliable sensor than the usual optical ones.

This means you should be able to use it on polished or wood-grain surfaces more easily. Apparently, it’s 20 times more sensitive to surface detail than a normal optical mouse. Which may be all well and good, but after our initial disappointment, we just can’t get our excitement up.
