Two firsts for Tosh: an LCD telly with a built in digital terrestrial tuner and a portable DVD player, (announced last month, but now actually on sale.)

Dubbed the 17WLT46, this 17inch widescreen IDTV (Integrated Digital TV) is intended as a second set for the kitchen or bedroom where space may be limited. A PC and TV picture option means you can use the screen to watch telly and work at the same time while other features include Fastext, Nicam Stereo sound and a 6Watt RMS output.

Also on board are 2 RGB enabled Scart sockets, S-VHS and composite video and audio input/outputs. The LCD TV comes with a pedestal stand though wall brackets are available if required. Available July, it’s expected to cost £699.

Also now available from Tosh is the company’s first portable DVD player, the SD-P1400. It features a 7inch display, stereo speakers and comes in a neat light weight silver and black casing. However unlike some of its cheaper rivals it only offers Region 2 playback. It costs around £399.
