Journo Wi-Fi disasters

There’s a ‘funny if it wasn’t so sad’ article by Chris Partridge over at VNUnet about how he failed to find a working Wi-Fi hot spot on a recent press trip to France.

We know what he means too after having spent hours trying in vain to log on to Wi-Fi networks in various hotels and airports across Europe.

Best of all was Nokia’s failure to provide a Wi-Fi connection so journalists could file their stories after the press conference. I am reminded of CES in Las Vegas in January where the wireless network was so in demand it kept crashing and all the PCs ran Windows 98 which proved disastrous for those of hoping to carry lots of image files on our USB memory storage devices.
