Vodafone and MySpace create Web 2.0 platform

vodafone_music_reporter.jpgVodafone and MySpace have announced the creation of the “Vodafone Music Reporter” interactive platform (really a glorified profile) which will be used by Vodafone to share existing music initiatives, including its summer festivals, as well as allowing music fans in the UK, Italy, Spain, and Germany to upload and download pictures and videos, and interact with other users via the regularly updated blog.

To mark the launch, Vodafons has announced a competition which will see one user join the crew of MTV covering one day at a music event or festival and have the opportunity to record their own report on their brand new Sony Vaio laptop and HD Handicam. Users simply need to become a friend of the community, and then upload a photo and video review of their favourite recent gig.

No doubt Vodafone is hoping that this will go viral, though they’ll need a few more friends before it does – they’ve currently got 76.
