Bedroom TV leads to children being stupider and less healthy

bedroom-tv-stupidity-survey.jpgIt’s the least surprising survey of the week! A poll of American teens found that those who watched TV in their bedrooms ended up with lower grade results, plus, for some odd reason that makes no sense, they also tend to eat less fruit and vegetables when they eventually emerge for dinner.

Girls with TVs got less exercise and also drank more fizzy drinks than their non-TV-watching friends, with the boys doing worse at school and also eating less healthily.

Clearly it’s more of a parenting issue – parents who are happy to leave their children in their black-painted hell-holes watching MTV Base are obviously less bothered about their offspring eating apples and bananas so they turn out right. It’s not TV that’s to blame – it’s SOCIETY.

I am available for after dinner speeches and Daily Mail columns.
