Flixwagon lets you do a Justin.tv with your mobile phone

That is, of course, a wild generalisation. But it captures the essence of Flixwagon, a service that lets you broadcast live videos from your mobile handset to the internet. People can watch your footage on the Flixwagon website, and even post comments for you to see in real-time.

Videos are also stored on the site for later viewing, making it (in theory) a cheap and accessible way for people to emulate Justin of Justin.tv fame, and transmit their daily doings to the world. Although you should check the small print of your mobile tariff carefully before trying something that ambitious.

This is Web 2.0, of course, so you can embed your channel on a blog or social networking site too, although as yet there doesn’t appear to be a fully-fledged Facebook application – surely the next step. Anyway, it’s an intriguing service that’s worth a look.
