astronaut-nasa.jpgFrom the age of six, I wanted to be a top tech blogger (obviously), but before that I had my sights set on space, and a career as an astronaut. However, here’s some news that’s reawakened those early ambitions: NASA is on the hunt for new astronauts, and the successful candidates could be walking on the Moon by 2020!

NASA wants 10-15 people to join the space agency, although be warned, thousands of people are expected to apply. The starting salary is $59,493 – $130,257 depending on qualifications and experience (no, an encyclopaedic knowledge of Babylon 5 doesn’t count).

“Creativity. Ambition. Teamwork. A sense of daring. And a probing mind. That’s what it takes to join NASA, one of the best places to work in the Federal Government,” says the ad on the USAJobs website. The deadline for applications is 1st July 2008, with the hirings taking place in Spring 2009. Get to it, people.
